Kirabook, New Thin Laptops from Toshiba with a "Retina Display"

Toshiba unveiled a new device called Ultrabook Kirabook. One of the advantages of this thin laptop is the screen which is capable of supporting very high resolution, ie 2560 x 1440 pixels.

The amount of support that resolution is not much different from the MacBook Pro with Retina Display screen of Apple and also Google's Chromebook artificial Pixel. Display two products, each capable of supporting a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and 2560 x 1700 pixels.



Good Kirabook screen, Retina Display MacBook Pro, and Google Chromebook Pixel alike are in the size range of 13 inches.

The density of this Kirabook screen is quite high at 221 pixels-per-inch (ppi). The density levels only slightly lower than the MacBook Pro Retina Display with 227 ppi and 239 ppi Chromebook with Pixel.

There will be three models Kirabook launched by Toshiba. Quoted from Pocket Lint, Friday (19/04/2013), the first model is based on Windows 8 devices that are not equipped with touch screen. This one device will be equipped with Intel Core i5 processor and priced at 1,599 U.S. dollars.

The second model of this Kirabook still based on Windows 8 and Intel Core i5. The difference is, the screen of this device is equipped with touch capabilities. To model this one, Toshiba will sell it for 1,799 dollars.

The last model is the model with the highest specification. This product comes with Windows 8, touch screen and Intel Core i7 processors. This one product will be released to the market at a price of 1,999 U.S. dollars.

In addition to the screen and also the processor, this model uses three storage media and also the same amount of RAM. All three models will come with a 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM.

For weight problems, the latest Toshiba Ultrabook is no less than Apple's lightest laptop, the MacBook Air. Kirabook device weighs about 1.3 pounds, slightly lighter than the MacBook Air weighs 1.48 kg.
